Amazing – 3rd year in a row! Grateful because I too believe our lives are the storybooks that we write for ourselves; wonderfully illustrated by the people we meet.
The Stretch of Possibilities
I believe there is a part of us that is, of course, concerned with the demands before us, but there is also a part of us that is entirely open-ended, full of possibilities that we do not yet even imagine. Just as in editing this beautiful wedding shoot on the shores of Kapalua Bay Beach on the island of Maui. Sure the structures of our lives need attention, initiation, a call in us to finish answering your e mails, to keep a clean home free of clutter, eat healthy and exercise daily. Yet are we not seeing the image of ourselves as winners by virtue of our desire, vision and intention to bring fresh inspiration into the world by allowing for opportunities to unfold before us when we least expect them. We all need to be ready for the surprises that are always waiting. So go outside and play as much as you can in between. Be honest, kind and inspirational to those around you. Laugh at the little stuff and sleep well at night for this is your spark of life that empowers the world.
Living in Joy
No matter if its yesterday, today, or tomorrow, I always have strong intent to live and move in one direction. Whatever I may be feeling at any moment, I know that I am never alone. There is joy in most every morning, and I welcome the warmth that carries me throughout the day and the peoples paths I cross. Interaction is not something I believe to be by chance no matter if its the couple on the beach that flew 4000 miles from home to renew their 15yr wedding vows, or the the person at the door while I help my daughter go door to door selling Girl Scout cookies, or even my neighbor working on his truck that always stops whatever he is doing to exchange a chat. I try to always be in full joy, shinning my light before the world for all to see, with a warmth that enfolds everything and everyone in its path. Because I believe that what is before me is some sort of exchange and I want to always radiate joy because I have noticed when I feel joy, everyone knows it. Everything around me is then clearly influenced by the smile, the joy and the happiness that wells up from within. Don’t get me wrong I can also clearly feel sadness or dismay when things do not go as I would like. Yet sometimes, in the midst of difficult times, we can still run on remembered joy, as its really just a choice. It may take quiet efforts at being still before joy can resurface again. But it will, it always does, after all its our life so let’s continue to share and remind others how this woks because after all we all get a little lost from time to time…. Because sometimes you just have to start all over to fly again and there nothing wrong with that.
When I grow up
Being blessed enough to have shared the better part of my life living on a volcano, I rarely over look the fact that the aina or land here is growing daily. I am awaken to a quote in line with my 2013 Vision that states “Look to the growing edge” by Howard Thurman. In these few words is the urge to be expressive, not to be fully satisfied with what we currently know. Consequently, my mind is bound to stay curious. And even as I continue to set a new Vision for 2013 the process is that of wondering and asking myself what am I’m going to do when I grow up! I don’t believe I shall ever know fully what that is, and perhaps it is just as well that I never quite remove that piece of myself. Inspiration is always at hand, in being a mom & though photography and document this life as I see it. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and I know that I am never alone. I stand on tiptoe at my growing edge and I cannot wait to see what more is available to me every day.
Facts & Feelings… Making Things Happen 2013
Normally every year after the holidays and before my birthday for about 2-3 weeks I go into a somewhat hibernation mode. Looking over the year past to see what worked and didn’t work for me. I’m aware a lot of people make new years resolutions, new goals, diet changes and that sort of thing. Yet for its a bit more passionate than that. For the last 2 year I have been inspirational following www.LaraCasey.com This is a women i crossed path with back in 2010 when she was here on Maui doing a workshop that I happened to be a model in. I cant explain the cross of paths it was more of a feeling or pull to encounter with this person yet sadly I never got a chance to personally speak with this fellow strawberry blonde woman. I did however have the chance to chat with other friends and mentors that took her workshop as well as met one on one with her and were quite moved by her entrepreneur mind, that seem to seem from living a life of purpose and deep meaning. One of my very best of friends made the time to chat with me about some of her lessons learned with this woman and one that I have carried with me for the past two year. This Life Guest Lister’s thing that was shared with me, has always been an anchor for the vision of my personal life as well as my professional life. So 2 weeks ago when i learned Lara was doing a webinar that I didn’t have to purchase a plane ticket to attend and the event would start on my birthday I couldn’t help but feel a rush of joy that I may once again have a chance to gain more knowledge from such a moving woman that continues to inspire me daily by one little simple practice. If her knowledge could carry such weight with once simple rule that I have applied over the last 2 yrs to what awakening could I gain from a 3 day webinar. I know the clock is ticking and I normal never publish this sort of thing on my Blog yet if anyone of you are like me and we all know that staring at situation’s and our lives is not going to cause a shift in it. Only by “getting a new mind” on something can we give it a new body. But Wait, There’s More…
I believe there is a presence that is always flowing through each one of us. This bring forth peace, joy, and love to the world. And when I am invited to document and event such as the above vow renewal Im looking to capture these moments that emerge from life within us. Because within these times I believe they are reflections of our needs being met. It is important to me to showcase such peace, love & joy that our needs are met and met often so that we may be free to continue to touch lives in our own special ways. To me there is but ONE life to live and while I am here I plan to showcase our flourishing relationships as they provided all of us with opportunities to live from a place of unlimited good.
You are the light….
Last night while editing it hit me…. That I really no longer know if I just get to photography beautiful people all the time or if I stare so deep to their core for so long that I just see the most beautiful light in everyone I shoot. Our future and what we choose to do with the moment ahead of us is the emerging world that comes from within. This is a light that is at the essence of our being. When we are in love with life, we radiate and glow at such a high level that we attract only the best, only that which is in harmony with good. Light is an energy and because the people I encounter are a being of light, a being of energy, I believe that are brilliant when I get to sneak a peek through my lens of these moments in their lives. These moments then can be nothing else but radiant, luminous, and dazzling. When I’m capturing such profound moments I cant help but notice their light of love & joy which will soon be a visual memory in their life. After all, isn’t this why I am here—to “the meaning of life is to find your gift and the purpose of life is to give it away”. Feel that. Be that. Today, and EVERYDAY.
Ready, Set, Go!
Nothing brings me more fully alive then documenting life, in all forms. Yet when the special touches are added in such a Hula and Fire Dancing we become fully awake, in being reminded it is time for us to live our lives in the awareness that we are here to shine the in all that we do. I believe I am learning that in this life when we allow our gift to fully emerge from within, we are responsible for living full-out. Much like helping people + your talent = PURPOSE. Knowing this, we are ready to go forward and be successful in all that we desire. There is no more thinking that we cannot; now is the time. This is the place. We are the ones. Yes, ready, set, now GO!
